The problem stems from the fact that the people who drew up the bill could not possibly comprehend the changes in our industry.
 - &quot;inventions&quot; can have no tangible physical form, but can exist in digital form.
 - &quot;distribution&quot; is no longer controllable, and property can be transferred across the world in seconds.

What people need to realise NOW is that the patent laws, designed to promote innovation, are completely stifling it because there can be no more competition, leading to anti-competitive behaviour.

That said, I don&#039;t see how Microsoft will have any problems with that. Just send a message to all their clients saying their versions of Word are currently illegal, and tell them to upgrade to Word 2010. Instant cash bonus.</description>
