About Me

Hi,

Daniel Hall

Daniel Hall

My name is Daniel. I’m a Linux Systems Administrator at a large Australian web centric company. I graduated University with a Bachelor of Computer Science (Web Systems) at the end of 2009. If you run into me in my spare time I’ll probably say ‘ouch’, then get back to tinkering with Linux, programming, hiking or just relaxing. Linux (and Open Source in general) is a large passion of mine and I make every effort to use it wherever I can. At home all my personal machines and my server are exclusively Fedora and my work machine is Fedora but runs a small Windows XP VM for some tasks.
I enjoy meeting fellow Linux users and discussing (with a particular focus on debating) the finer points of the computing industry. I hold very strong view points and beliefs. I believe we need to practice more green computing to aide in the prevention of climate change. I think that patents on software need to be a granted under much tighter restrictions.

You can contact me by sending an email to d@danielhall.me, or by yelling my name out really loud when you see me in a crowd.
